We just launched KiGoo, a free tool that allows Google users to fully manage (create, read, update and delete) their Calendar and Contacts from MS Outlook.

Also KiGoo manage the Free Busy information of your Gmail contacts for appointments if they shared their FB status.

Currently we support Windows XP and office 2007.

Before you completely give up on Outlook Sync, check out this link at Google's Calendar Help group:

http://groups.google.com/group/google-calendar-help-howto/browse_thread/thread/4d956f143c5ea3a1/eae8c6c53d4ee3ff#eae8c6c53d4ee3ff

(or http://preview.tinyurl.com/2euztz same thing)

Look at the third message from the top from shimmerdark. You actually have to first associate your outlook email address with your calendar username, then use the outlook address with your calendar password to login to Calendar Sync

Why Google doesn't tell you that outright is a mystery to me . . .

I too was really excited. I've tried auto-sync programs to get my professional Outlook (exchange) calendar and my Google Calendar, but none are really good. The Google owned & released sync wasn't much better. It was not flexible enough, and everytime it sync'd, it created a huge list of deleted items in my Outlook. I have decided not to use it at this time. Google makes products that are very user friendly-- I'm sure that in short time, this product will be top-notch.
